Senior Staff Accountant - On-site

This position serves as a Senior Staff Accountant for Lucas Oil Products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining financial records and ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded and support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Preparing monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and variance analysis, preparing monthly bank reconciliations, preparing cash forecasts, working with external tax advisors by providing and preparing the necessary information for federal and state tax filings.
This position is responsible for understanding and overseeing all aspects of the accounting operations and working with executive leadership and operations personnel to identify areas for improvement and refinement.
This position reports directly to the Controller.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Reconciles bank accounts and creates adjusting journal entries.
Hands on responsibility for all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems.
Responsible for month end and year end close, including consolidation of various business segments.
Prepares monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and variance analysis by applying critical thinking.
Supports accounts payable staff to ensure invoices are appropriately recorded and paid timely.
Supports accounts receivable staff to ensure customers are billed timely and overdue balances are collected.
Works closely with plant accountant to ensure inventory is accurately recorded and bills of materials in the system are accurate.
Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
Coordinates document preparation for annual review of financial statement and tax return with outside independent accounting firm.
Prepares cash flow estimates and works with operations to determine upcoming expenses and cash requirements.
Periodic production of financial analyses and historical metrics for senior management.
Aids in designing, documenting, and implementing accounting processes and procedures.
Aids in development of budgets.
Other responsibilities as requested.

Ability to work in a stationary environment for long periods of time on a computer.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
